Cloudia has always had her head in the clouds. A cloud expert, she has
dreamt all her life of seeing a Cloud Man – extremely rare creatures who
live a quiet life high up in the sky...
In this delightful show brought to you by Ailie Cohen Puppet Maker,
Co-Created by Lewis Hetherington and Ailie Cohen, the audience follows the
clues to the very top of Cloud Mountain, a place where the views are always
surprising – and, if you’re lucky, you might see something very special
indeed.
Featuring a blend of puppetry, storytelling and sumptuous visuals, Cloud Man
is a 45-minute show suitable for children aged 4 to 7 years.
The show was devised and developed together with collaborator Lewis
Hetherington, and is directed by Alasdair Satchel. It features original
music by Niroshini Thambar and Nik Paget-Tomlinson, as well as set and
puppets created by Ailie. Originally performed by Ailie, Cloud Man was
recast with Jen Edgar for its appearance as part of the prestigious Made in
Scotland Showcase 2011 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
As part
of the Made in Scotland award, Ailie and Lewis also produced a Cloud Man
Book.
This can be bought via the website shop or after the show, allowing audience
members to continue to enjoy the story of Cloud Man at home.
Ailie
has toured extensively in the UK, and internationally. She is an associate
artist of Puppetstate Theatre Company, with whom she co-directed and
designed ‘The Man Who Planted Trees’. She has also worked with the National
